Angela Hook graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Canada. There, she was exposed to many forms of art and types of media. Although choosing a career as a graphic designer has meant that she doesn't have to get her hands dirty any more, Angela continues to enjoy painting and other forms of fine art. In 2002 she began exploring the possibilities of wire as an artistic medium.
"When you know the correct proportions and structure of something to start with, it's a lot easier to exercise your artistic license by adding creative embellishments and exaggerations." says Hook. "The wire of choice for the sculptures is copper. Copper itself has many interesting properties. This brings a unique energy to each of the wire pieces."
