Paul discovered that wire is one of the most rewarding and versatile mediums for sculpting.
"Since creating my first sculpture in wire, I have been more and more amazed and delighted by the never ending possibilities that it presents to me for expressing my creative energies."
The sculpture is often figurative in content and the strength and delicacy of wire allows him to add a lot of expression and dynamism to his work that many other mediums do not deliver due to their inherent limitations and weaknesses.
Paul says "Wire sculpture can have a mysterious, ghostly appearance, allowing the light to dance and play upon its surface. They seem almost ephemeral and transient, being solid yet transparent and taking on a different energy and vitality depending on the time of day and lighting conditions."
