Ryan Stimers first started making wire sculpture in junior high school to pass the time during speech therapy classes (to cure stuttering). His speech therapist liked the wire snakes and dinosaurs that he made and offered to sell them at a craft fair that she was doing. Ryan graduated with an engineering degree from Northeastern University in Boston, but has decided to become a full time artist. "Since the tools needed to make wire sculpture are light and portable (in his case just a single pair of needle nose pliers) he has travelled by selling the wire on the streets.
